Cover Reveal: The Last Star (The 5th Wave #3) by Rick Yancey!

So, the cover for the final book of Rick Yancey's The 5th Wave series has finally been revealed. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I haven't even read the first one yet, (but I will soon, I promise!) so I can't say I'm excited. I'm pretty sure if I had read the first two, I would be ecstatic, but alas, I haven't yet. They've been on my TBR list forever, so I'm probably going to get to reading them very soon (not that a book has to have been on my TBR list for a long time before I read it) I'll definitely read it  before the movie for the 5th Wave comes out in January.

I guess there are a few things that I can say about the cover for this book. I'll try.

PictureSymbolism: Does the view of the land the girl-whom I'm assuming is Cassie Sullivan, the main protagonist- is facing has been conquered by the aliens? (If I sound like I have no idea what I'm talking about, it probably because I don't) Does the sunrise represent a new age? Will the human race start over after (hopefully) wiping the aliens off the face of the Earth (pun intended)? Or will it just pick up the pieces and continue where it left off? Why is Cassie looking down at the land from a high rock? Does that mean something?

Quick Summary: We’re here, then we’re gone, and that was true before they came. That’s always been true. The Others didn’t invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won’t end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning, on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

Master storyteller Rick Yancey invokes triumph, loss, and unrelenting action as the fate of the planet is decided in the conclusion to this epic series.
