Movie News: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Exciting movies news! It was announced yesterday that Before I Fall, a novel by Lauren Oliver, is to be adapted into a movie. The book, which was published in 2010, had its movie rights bought by 20th Century Fox. Even though they haven't started filming yet, let alone finish casting, the movie is apparently set to be released next year!

The book focuses on Sam Kingston, a girl with a perfect life and perfect everything. Here's more in an overview: "Samantha Kingston has it all: the world's most crush-worthy boyfriend, three amazing best friends, and first pick of everything at Thomas Jefferson High—from the best table in the cafeteria to the choicest parking spot. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it turns out to be her last. Then she gets a second chance. Seven chances, in fact. Reliving her last day during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death—and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing."

Zoey Deutch, a well acclaimed actress that has played her fair share of roles in young adult fiction books adapted into movies including Vampire Academy and Beautiful Creatures, has been cast as Sam Kingston.
Zoey will also playing multiple roles in the next year including the female lead Shadia in Dirty Grandpa opposite Robert De Niro and Zac Efron and Beverly in Everbody Wants Some and Nors in Good Kids.

I haven't read the book yet, but its been on my TBR list forever, so this movie announcemnt is an incentive for me to finally pick it up. I can't say if Zoey is how I envisioned Sam to be since I haven't read the book, but now that I've seen that Zoey has been cast as her, she's going to be how I picture Sam when I do read it...eventually.
